Holiday Playschemes

WHERE WE ARE
Using the Reception Road Infant School premises we are open to all children aged 4 to 8 years regardless of attendance at the school.  Our holiday playschemes are open for most of the school holidays – although unfortunately we cannot open for all the holidays due to staff holidays.

Children are offered a varied programme of activities suitable for their age range within a relaxed atmosphere.  Wherever possible we work within an adult:child staffing ratio of 1:6.  Most of the staff working at the Playschemes also work within the After School Club which operates from the school throughout the year. Opportunities for outdoor play are offered throughout the day, with free play, adventure playground, sports and team games on offer.  We plan a varied programme of activities and children are offered free choice of toys and games.  Within our friendly setting, children are encouraged to make and play with new friends.

Children arriving before 8.30 are offered breakfast.  We ask parents to provide a healthy packed lunch and drink.  We will provide healthy snacks and drinks throughout the day and offer a healthy snack tea at 4.30pm.  Children are involved in shopping locally for food and cooking and baking and preparing food. Drinking water is available all day.
